| Belize is a former British colony that was previously known as British Honduras. This small Central American nation which is about the size of the state of Massachusetts, only became independent in 1981. With the independence, many problems continue to rise: Crime is escalating rapidly, the economy is dangerously close to a huge collapse and some citizens and politicians are constantly divided on the developments of the country. Over the course of the many administrations that has managed the country politically, the evidence of dereliction of duty and an inability to function has silently haunted the Belizean democratic system. Fahrenheit Belize is a film about unity, anti-corruption, sustainable development and civil society. Based on the realities that affects this nation, many welcome the opportunity to expose those who needs to be exposed and that which needs to be addressed. With detailed interviews and stock footages of almost a decade of being an independent nation, this film will leave a great mark in the history of Belizean and international media. |
